What makes AMESCO special?
AMESCO relies on strong partnerships with wineries. Together, we pursue the philosophy of using quality wine as the basis for our non-alcoholic wines.
In developing our wine, we consider the entire journey – from the vineyard and vinification to dealcoholization. We refine our wine together, meticulously coordinating every step. This results in alcohol-free wine that is more than just an alternative – it invites you to discover something new in every glass and rediscover the full pleasure of alcohol.
Our specially developed, particularly gentle filtration process without heating preserves the character of the original wine with its aromas and structure.
In this way, AMESCO combines tradition and innovation to create an authentic taste experience for all those who want to abstain from alcohol but not from quality.
What is non-alcoholic wine?
Alcohol-free wine is made from regular wine, from which the alcohol is removed after fermentation. But why go to all this trouble? Alcoholic fermentation – the conversion of sugar into alcohol – plays a crucial role in the development of aromas. The aging of the wine also contributes significantly to its complexity.
To make this depth of flavor perceptible in alcohol-free wine, a wine containing alcohol is first required. Therefore, a particularly gentle dealcoholization process is crucial – and this is precisely where our own carefully developed method comes in.
How is non-alcoholic wine produced at AMESCO?
Our alcohol-free wine is produced using an innovative, particularly aroma-preserving process in which the alcohol is filtered out. Unlike vacuum distillation, the volatile aromas are retained, and the wine's structure is not affected beyond the alcohol removal process.
Does non-alcoholic wine taste like "normal" wine?
Yes – our special production process preserves the aroma. Our goal is to offer you a genuine wine experience without alcohol .
Does non-alcoholic wine contain no alcohol at all?
The rule is that a wine with less than 0.5% alcohol by volume is considered "alcohol-free" (as with alcohol-free beer).
Our wines have an average alcohol content of around 0.2% by volume. That's less than a ripe banana.
Is non-alcoholic wine healthier?
Alcohol-free wine contains less than 0.5% alcohol by volume and is therefore often the healthier alternative – at least in terms of alcohol content. However, alcohol-free wine also contains sugar. At AMESCO, we take care to use as little added sugar as possible – to offer a genuine wine experience and not taste like grape juice.
Whether one considers non-alcoholic wine "healthier" depends entirely on one's perspective. What is clear is that it has fewer calories than conventional wine and lacks the intoxicating effect – perfect for anyone seeking enjoyment without guilt.
Who is alcohol-free wine suitable for?
Alcohol-free wine is suitable for everyone. It's about having an alternative to conventional wine without sacrificing enjoyment. This often includes pregnant women, people who still need to drive, those focused on sports, those with a very health-conscious lifestyle, or anyone who simply wants to abstain from alcohol.
How long does non-alcoholic wine keep?
Unopened, our non-alcoholic wine has a shelf life of at least 21 months. Once opened, it should be consumed in the refrigerator within 3 to 5 days.
Where can I buy Amesco's non-alcoholic wines?
You can order our non-alcoholic wine directly here in the online shop or soon also in selected stores near you.
Why non-alcoholic wine instead of grape juice?
Grape juice is unfermented fruit juice – alcohol-free wine, on the other hand, is first fermented like regular wine and then dealcoholized. This allows the aromas of the wines to be preserved, thanks in part to our specially developed process.
How many calories does non-alcoholic wine have?
The exact calorie content of non-alcoholic wine varies considerably depending on the grape variety and residual sugar. Non-alcoholic wine generally contains 20 to 50% fewer calories than alcoholic wine.
What types of non-alcoholic wine are available?
Our current range includes non-alcoholic white and rosé wines. We are in the final stages of developing our red wines, which will soon be available. Sparkling wines will also follow in the near future.
What goes well with non-alcoholic wine?
Alcohol-free wine behaves just like alcoholic wine. The different grape varieties determine the appropriate food pairing. Generally, white wine goes better with cheese, light meats, fish, and salads, while red wine is better with pasta and meat dishes. Of course, all wines are also delicious simply on their own.
Is non-alcoholic wine vegan?
Yes, all our non-alcoholic wines are vegan.
